What this Day Master means

Jia is associated with the upright growth of a tree. In traditional imagery, it suggests direction, patience and a visible structure. A tree also depends on its surroundings: this is a useful reminder that one symbol cannot tell you how a whole chart works.

How to identify it

Look for 甲 at the top of your day pillar. Seeing it in the year, month or hour pillar does not make it your Day Master. Jia belongs to Yang Wood, so its yin-yang quality is part of its name, not a second score to calculate.
